Jack Dougall scored a tremendous long-range goal as Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club under-13 United beat Ware Youth Clarets 4-1 to stretch their unbeaten run to almost two years.
The away side were quick out of the blocks and took the lead when Fin Fraser converted from close range after good play from man-of-the-match Max Hibbert.
Charlie Sacco scored with a rare right-footed finish to make it 2-0 at the break before Dougall extended the lead further with a half-volley from fully 30 yards.
Ware pulled a goal back with a deflected effort, but United had the final word as Jude Xavier tapped in after Teddy Hancock’s shot had hit the bar.
Under-13 Athletic came from behind three times and almost won as their match with Potters Bar Crusaders ended 3-3.

Under-17 Rovers suffered a cruel 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bury Rangers under-18 Reds.
Rovers played well in the first half, but they needed goalkeeper Monty Lawrence to produce a save and Luke Hale to clear off the line to keep it goalless at the break.
The hosts dominated the start of the second half and continued to be the more threatening side despite going down to 10 men when Charlie Fisher went off injured and they had no substitutes to replace him.
Rovers attacked relentlessly, but they conceded a wonder strike and their opponents’ goal lived something of a charmed life. James Caldwell was man of the match.
The under-15 Eastern Junior Alliance side maintained their title push with a 4-2 success over Chelmsford City.
It was 2-2 at the break as Joseph Nardelli and George Collins both equalised for the hosts.
And they won it in an exciting second period as Nardelli converted a penalty and George Lane struck a fine volley.
Under-15 Saints came from behind to beat Parringdon Tigers 3-1 and record their first Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Division One win.
They quickly regrouped after conceding against the run of play and two quick goals from Ollie Green and Harrison Walker gave them a half-time lead.
Robbie Hamilton ran things from the middle of the park after the break and Saints sealed the victory when man-of-the-match Walker completed his brace.
Late on, goalkeeper William Lumby produced a stunning reaction save to deny the Tigers.
Bonnie Kirby scored a spectacuar goal from outside the box as the under-12 girls beat Hitchin Belles 3-1.
Remi Hasty and Carolina Garcia also netted and Indigo Lee was player of the match.
Sam Braund equalised to earn under-11 United a 1-1 draw with Ware Youth Whites.
He netted before the interval and George Tyler went close on a number of occasions in the second period.
