- A Queens church is seeking to relocate from Whitestone to 167 Willis Ave. in Mineola, next to Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. The Mineola Board of Trustees held a public hearing to consider the application from Jungho Park for the New York Jesus Family Church. Attendees voiced concern about parking for the proposed tenant, as it has long been an issue for the “avenue of churches” that is Willis Avenue. (The Island Now)
- Nassau County Executive-elect Bruce Blakeman continues to make some changes in his administration, while keeping other top leaders. Officials Blakeman is retaining include Health Commissioner Dr. Lawrence Eisenstein, Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder and Sheriff James Dzurenda. New appointments include Denis Monette as commissioner of the Office of Emergency Management, Rich Corbett as deputy commissioner of the Office of Emergency Management, and Anthony LaRocca as undersheriff. - Retired Daily News Photographer Bill Turnbull, who worked for the newspaper for 35 years, passed away on Saturday.
