Quoting the \u201cSynodal Way\u201d, Frings further wrote: \u201cThe recognition of the equality and legitimacy of non-heterosexual orientations, their practices and relationships, as well as the elimination of discrimination based on sexual orientation, is urgently required.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The official pointed to a text of the forum on \u201cLife in succeeding relationships \u2013 Living love in sexuality and partnership\u201d, which not only contains comments about changing views on homosexuality but also about masturbation, marriage, sexual lust and other related topics.<\/p>\n

The German layman also connected the \u201cSynodal Way\u201d to a prominent LGBT-campaign in Germany \u00a0titled \u201c#OutInChurch \u2014 For a church without fear,\u201d which was launched on Jan. 24.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The campaign appealed for the revision of what it described as \u201cdefamatory and outdated\u201d expressions of Catholic doctrine, reported CNA Deutsch, CNA\u2019s German-language news partner.<\/p>\n

In a seven-point list of demands, the organizers wrote: \u201cDefamatory and outdated statements of Church doctrine on sexuality and gender need to be revised on the basis of theological and human-scientific findings.\u201d<\/p>\n

The campaign \u2014 launched with a blaze of publicity in Germany, with an accompanying television program \u2014 was welcomed on behalf of the bishops\u2019 conference by Bishop Helmut Dieser, chairman of the \u201cSynodal Way\u201d forum on \u201cLiving in Successful Relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
