A PREGNANT mum, her partner, and her five-year-old son are seeking help after they lost their house and dog to a devastating fire.

The young family has been left homeless with nothing but the clothes they stood in after their house in Oak Road in Bishop’s Waltham was burnt down in a fire at around 4pm on Saturday, January 21.

Chloe and her son, Hugo, managed to escape from the house, but unfortunately, they lost their dog Simba.

Although Chloe tried to save Simba, a dogue de Bordeaux, he never made it out alive.

Chloe, who is pregnant with her second son, has been taken to a hospital because of smoke inhalation.

Chloe’s brother is now trying to raise funds for the young family that has lost everything.

The brother wrote on a Gofundme page: “She is doing fine but already a struggling mum expecting another she and her partner have realised they have lost everything of both theirs and Hugo’s.

“I have started this [fundraiser] to try raise enough money to rent somewhere to live and maybe buy Hugo a toy or two.

“Chloe and my nephew are the most loving and helpful people and a lot of people will know her around Portsmouth, Four Marks and Bishops Waltham.

“Any donations will be highly appreciated and will help both Chloe and Hugo start rebuilding their lives.”

Her brother said Chloe did not have insurance and no life savings, and she used her last £20 to “put electric on”.

The cause of the fire is not known yet.

A fire service spokesperson said: “Firefighters from Bishop’s Waltham, Wickham, Hightown and Eastleigh were called to a kitchen fire at a property on Oak Road at 14:46 yesterday [January 21] afternoon.

“One casualty was handed over to SCAS paramedics to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

“A dog sadly died in the fire which was extinguished using hose reels and jets before firefighters ventilated the property to clear smoke.

“One crew returned to conduct a reinspection and complete community safety visits.

“The stop message came in at 16:24.”
