On July 13th, 2021, Gloria Jean Lawrence (Pietras) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, entered into eternal rest at the age of 59. A beloved mother and wife, Gloria had spent the past decade courageously fighting a long illness before her passing. Gloria will be remembered for her strength, spirit, perseverance and her ability to light up a room.
Gloria was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 24th, 1961 to Daniel M. Pietras, Sr. and Dolores S. Pietras (Betley). Gloria attended Regina Coeli Catholic School and was a graduate from Whitmer High School. She came from a large family and was proud of her Catholic faith and Polish heritage. Gloria spent many years working for insurance agencies where she was recognized for her great work ethic, attention to detail, and friendly customer service. Gloria and her husband Grant Lawrence were teenage sweethearts and married for 42 years. Together they raised three daughters and in 2005, the Lawrence family left Ohio and relocated to New Mexico.
Gloria was known for her contagious laugh, sense of humor, and taking great pride in her home. She always celebrated and decorated for each holiday, her favorite being Halloween. Gloria had an eye for beauty, especially in fashion and decor. She had a special way of turning a house into a home and her loving presence will be deeply missed. Gardening, watching movies, spending time with her family, and traveling with her husband were Gloria’s favorite pastimes. Gloria loved all animals, especially her three dogs Monty, Murphy, and Molly.
Gloria is survived by her dedicated husband Grant Lawrence and her three daughters Jessica (Gabriel Hernandez) Lawrence, Elizabeth (Timmy) Schools, and Katie (Alex) Langston. Also mourning her passing are her siblings Dianna (Randy) Schoenegge, Victoria Michalak, Marlene (Rob) Herwat, Daniel (Carolyn) Pietras, Martin (Joyce) Pietras, and Peter Pietras. Gloria was preceded in death by her loving mother Dolores Pietras and her father Daniel Pietras. Her three grandchildren Fox Langston, Summer Hernandez, and Chase Schools will greatly miss their grandmother.
In accordance with her wishes, there are no funeral services. The family requests that any donations in Gloria’s memory be made to your local animal shelter.
