Ann F. Hurley 100 of Harrisburg died Saturday, September 17, 2022 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. We are now blessed that Heaven has another angel to watch over us. Ann was born in Madera, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Oprchly) Surovy. In her twenties she started working at the local movie theatre where she eventually became manager during WWII. She was an excellent homemaker and retired waitress, loving wife and mother of four children. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church and Parish Council of Catholic Women, where she was a Past-President. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, dancing, classical music and old movies. Her beauty shone from the inside and out, especially her smile, people were drawn to her naturally. She was very welcoming, had an infectious laugh and was the life of any gathering. She always showed gentleness, kindness and caring for others, making you feel special, wanting to feed you whether you were hungry or not. We knew her to be comical, feisty, selfless, stubborn, wise beyond her years & FUN. She was our lucky charm and magical “ninja”, a term she earned from grandkids who enjoyed her visits and ninja impersonations, again more FUN. Her contagious laugher and joyful outlook on life made any visit an enchanting and inspiring experience. She was a fountain of joy, bringing life, laughter and love wherever she went. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Michael Hurley, her sister, Mary Surovy, her brothers, Andrew Surovy, John Surovy, Stephan Surovy and Martin Surovy. Ann is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Murosky and Eileen Hurley; her sons, Michael (Sandi) Hurley and John (Diane) Hurley; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and another greatgrandchild on the way. She was also blessed with one surviving sister-in-law, many loving nieces, nephews, their families and many wonderful friends.
